Summer vacation 2015 has come to an end, but it is kind of bittersweet! We had an amazing summer (from July 3rd on, of course), but everyone is feeling ready to get back to our house and back into our routine...tonight Charlotte told me she was "homesick" and "ready to learn again" haha. Henry said he misses his bed and his toys. So while I know we will most definitely miss the days of swimming all day and going to the beach, we are ready to get back on schedule :)
Jon has to assimilate back into the corporate world tomorrow, but we still have a few more days before school starts and we will most certainly make the most of them!
Anyway, I'm happy to report that our last 2 days of family vacation improved somewhat from the previous few days haha. Yesterday we went to the Hampton Maid for breakfast...Charlotte & Henry weren't fans of the blueberry pancakes so they barely ate (don't tell Mamie!), and Eloise was cranky and crying, but Jon & I shoveled our delicious breakfasts in our mouths haha.
Eloise at the Maid :)
After breakfast, we went to the inlet...the kids were able to do some body boarding (if you can call it that when there were no waves haha). Such a beautiful beach day!
Daddy tried to take Eloise into the water, but she just cried...
More crying/fussing
More crying/fussing...get the picture? All she wanted was for me to count to 3 and then throw her over my head when the "waves" came...needless to say, my back is killing me today!
And just so you have a visual of the "waves" in action haha
We went to my parents' house after the beach...the older kids got to swim for a while, and then we went to meet Jamie, Scott, Tyler & Trevor. We were going to have a drink at rumba, but it was so crowded so we just took the Rumbarge right to Cowfish. It was fun...the kids were able to play on the ship when we had some drinks, and we all had a great time :)
Gotta love Jon driving the powder blue cruiser around the streets of old harbor haha
Henry couldn't find his bathing suit
All aboard!!!
Henry telling Jamie about the "baby newborn tiger shark" mommy caught:)
Silly kiddies
This is just a funny series of pictures...look at the Parrot boys! I've definitely seen Jamie make both of those faces :)
Love his hands in his pockets...his new picture pose!
My handsome boy
Jon said his stage name should be "Young Blood" haha
After dinner, we went back to my parents' house for a drink and quite a few original performances haha...these kids are really something else! What a match made in heaven:)
Poppy trying to move onto the stage haha
The drama in these songs--hysterical. They are clearly fans of the circular choreography. But my favorite part is us trying to stop laughing, and listening to Jamie snort in the process haha
Henry did NOT like that Tyler was getting all of Charlotte's attention!
And the finale, which I've dubbed "1000 Bridges"
Ahh, good times!!!
Today we went fishing, which was great. It was cloudy and kind of ominous looking, but it ended up being perfect because we weren't hot or baking in the sun! Charlotte pretty much caught a fish every time she put her hook in the water...she got a few fluke and a few sea robins. I got the same. Henry reeled in a fluke but spent most of the time on the bow cuddling with Uncle Joe haha.
Happy boy with his bacon on a bagel...mmmm
Charlotte got one too...jealous mommy :)
Buddies!
Little fisherwoman:)
With her first fluke...no keepers for any of us, unfortunately:(
Helping poppy drive the boat!
For Henry, boating and naps go hand in hand haha
We came home, kids went swimming, and then we had a wonderful dinner with Aunt Carmen & Uncle Lou (Jon went home and recuperated from his vacation haha). After dinner, we once again had some performances. Sensing a theme here?!! :)
Henry said it was too cold to swim at first haha
Playing the piano with Uncle Joe
And our nightly entertainment, of course! :)
Xoxoxo
