I get yelled at if I don't keep the blog current these days, haha, so this is how we have been spending our last days of summer...
Monday I worked, so nothing exciting to report! Tuesday we had (half of) the McKennas out, and Charlotte & Henry were BEYOND excited. They only asked like 9,000 times when Clare and Maddie were going to be here. Before 8am haha. When they finally arrived, there were lots of hugs and then they wanted to go in the pool...Charlotte and Henry were both anxious to show off their swimming skills! Last year when they came out Charlotte was afraid to get a drop of water in her face and could only doggy paddle, and Henry was still in his floatie, so the recent swimming developments were very exciting! :)
After a few hours of swimming, a pizza lunch, Italian ices, and more swimming, we went down to the beach for (you guessed it) more swimming. Here are some pics...
Eloise put on quite the show that evening...so darn cute (and not at all biased!)
And of course crazy big sis had to get involved:)
I also realized Tuesday night that Henry starts school in a week and I haven't done any prep with him at all. He isn't the easiest person in the world to work with, I'm not sure if you know that? So maybe that is why I avoided it. Or because subconsciously I know he has 2 years to master kindergarten haha? Or just because I forgot I was supposed to? Either way, this was the product of about 20 minutes of coaxing. And just so you know, he doesn't like lowercase letters and no one can make him write them. Deep breaths...
On Wednesday, Henry had a massive kindergarten play date at the Rec Centre, so we had to drive back to RVC. And then we got there, and he didn't speak or interact with anyone--even his friends from nursery school!!! So it was basically a waste of time haha. I could've taken them to the park 3 min down the street, and saved a lot of travel time :) BUT...the kids were sooooooo excited to go to our house. Henry immediately got naked and jumped into his favorite seat haha. They ran to their rooms and were so excited to see all of their toys. Henry didn't want to leave, and asked if we could just pick up Eloise and come back haha. I think we are all ready to go back and get back into the swing of things! I know I am :)
Today the kids had swimming lessons and then we just kind of hung around...played at the house, did homework, walked to the beach--the usual :)
Here are some videos of the lesson. Henry was so nervous that he almost knocked himself off his feet he was shaking so badly, but he did it! So brave.
And Charlotte doesn't like when he does something that she can't/won't do, so she HAD to go haha
Here they are swimming the length of the pool. It was no big deal for Charlotte. Henry, once again, was absolutely petrified. Notice all of the negotiations with Ms Maureen. But he did it!
Today when we walked to the beach, an old man who lives on the way was outside and said "hello", and said the kids could use his swing any time. Before the words were even out of his mouth they were on it!
Now you are pretty much up to date ;)
Xoxoxo
