That was what Cale always said…at a time when he could have easily been bitter due to the hand he was dealt, he just said he was going to live life to the fullest and "enjoy every moment". That is what his memory bracelets all say as well, and I've been wearing mine every day. And I honestly look down at it multiple times a day to remind myself that these little moments are really the ones that count…even when both kids are melting down and our house is a circus, it puts everything into perspective. Cale would have given anything to have one more minute with his family, even if that minute was a massive temper tantrum.
So I have been listening to Cale…really being more "present" when I am with the kids, and even doing things I really, really, really don't want to do (like today I dug in the dirt with Henry…ahhh, my nails! And dirty fingers that he of course put right into his mouth!). And I have to say that I have been very happy…very fulfilled…and I realize just how blessed we are. The fact that it has been in the upper 60's and we've been able to spend a lot of time outside doesn't hurt either :)
Here are some recent pictures of us enjoying every moment, and the beautiful weather!
Henry just needed a quick pick-me-up! He is slightly obsessed with coffee cups recently and always wants to have one with him...
That is me that she is drawing :)
Our little artist
Tracing her foot
Chugging the empty coffee cup :)
He may or may not be drawing on the planter...
Love when they play together
Another day…same jackets. Posing with my love bug :)
Henry spied a hole in the fence, and was saying "wassat?" (translation: "what is that?")
Trying to get a closer look
He looks so grown up!
Sticking his fingers in the dirt…then he either puts it directly into his mouth, or hands it to me haha
So sweet
He saw a plane…again, he starts with the "wassat?", but today he actually said something that could be interpreted as "plane". It was more like "pane", but I will give it to him :)
Futile effort
Another beautiful day…my big boy is such a love! :)
Charlotte posing in her rain jacket and boots (it had briefly drizzled about 6 hours before we went outside, haha)
Locating another hole in the fence!
I had to take a picture of this because Charlotte actually allowed Henry to push her baby around in the stroller without crying/whining…such a milestone! :)
Charlotte was saying, "he's such a good daddy…he just wants to take the baby for a walk!"
Xoxoxo
