Busy busy!

Things have been very busy around here…we did a lot of work on the house last week--the kids' bathroom was renovated, and we got all new electric, so the house was a bit hectic with lots of people in/out!  But luckily, the bathroom was finished on Thursday night, and Jon painted this weekend, so now I just need to accessorize :)

We had a fun weekend too…on Friday night Jon reminded me that the American Cup gymnastics championships was at MSG on Saturday.  I had gotten an email about it months ago, but then forgot about it.  I quickly went online to get tickets for me and Charlotte, and roped Kathleen and Will into joining us :)  So Saturday morning Charlotte and I went into the city…by train…which was, without a doubt, the highlight for her!  She was so excited on that train…the entire time she was going "weeeeee!", as if she were on a ride, haha.  Too cute.

Here is Charlotte anxiously (and not at all patiently) waiting for the train to arrive

More of a close-up…you can see beautiful St. Agnes Cathedral in the background

Looking out the window and narrating what she was seeing (for everyone on the train, haha)

Just slightly excited :)  Sorry for the extreme close-up….looks nothing like Charlotte, haha

After we arrived at MSG, we had to wait on a ridiculously long line at Will Call.  And these are the great seats you get when you get tickets a few hours before the event, haha!  When we got home, Jon asked Charlotte if the meet was at a "big place"…she said, "no, it was really small".  MSG, really small apparently :)

About 25 minutes into the meet, after eating her peanut butter and jelly sandwich, Charlotte asked if we could "go back on the train now".  Enough of the gymnastics, she just wanted to ride the train!  I could've saved myself some money and just turned right around in Penn Station, haha.  I convinced her to stay a few minutes longer, but she wasn't really paying attention…she was jumping around and saluting, and thought all of the people were clapping for her :)  I heard it was a good meet, but unfortunately, we left before the first rotation was even over!

We headed home for a quick nap for my sleepy but happy girl :)

Then, after a short nap, we headed to Mike & Kim's for a play date and dinner.  Well, some of us had dinner.  Henry refused to eat a single morsel, because he wanted a 2.5 foot x 2.5 foot car on his high chair, and when I wouldn't let him have it, temper tantrums ensued.  But the rest of us had a nice dinner, and in a weird twist of fate, Charlotte even ate a full serving of spaghetti with meatballs!!!  Crazy :)

So Saturday was a fun-filled day, and it was quite a challenge to keep the kids awake on the ride home!  Sunday we mostly just hung around and did some home improvement projects…good times!  But all in all, we had two great "family days" (what Charlotte calls the weekends)  :)
