Random

Here is a random collection of pictures, in an attempt to just get through some of the 1600 pictures on my phone!

Here is Henry at soccer class.  One of the rare moments where he was sitting where he is supposed to sit, and not on my lap...

Oh, Henry…he is SO cute, but he has really been giving us such a hard time. He doesn't listen, the screaming, tantrums…I know he is 3, but somehow I forgot how difficult 3 is.  I know I've said it before, but whoever coined the term "terrible 2s" hadn't yet had a 3 year old because 3 is SOOOOOOOO much worse!  Anyway, this day he wasn't listening at soccer, wouldn't participate, was hitting and kicking me (seriously), and I ended up picking him up and carrying him out of the class.  When we got home, he wanted to get into his PJs (surprise, surprise), and I got him dressed then went into the other room for about 2 minutes…when I came back, this is what I found!  At 12:15pm!!!!  For the first time in his life, I was able to change him, carry him upstairs, put him into his bed, and he never woke up.  I've never had kids that would "transfer" their sleep locations, so this was a first.  And I had to go wake him up at 2:45pm.  That was my first clue that maybe he wasn't feeling so well…went to the doctor the next day, and found out that he had "an earful of pus".  Gross.  So he had an ear infection.  I have no idea how long.  He has been congested for a long time…doc said he has post-nasal drip and thought it was from allergies, which is what I had guessed…but he never once complained about his ear.  Yet, it made me feel a little guilty because I wondered if maybe he was being so naughty because he didn't feel well.  I don't want to jinx us, but he does seem to be a little bit better behaved since he started the antibiotics.  "Little" is the key word there…he is still 3, for another 8 months haha.  Charlotte is so funny though…every time he misbehaves, she looks at me and whispers, "thank goodness we are having a girl" :)  As if girls don't go through any difficult periods!

(After that rant, I feel like I should mention that Henry is also sometimes the sweetest little boy, he gives wonderful hugs and kisses, says adorable things like "no please", and is the biggest ham in the world…so it's not all tantrums!)

My friend told me there was a candy cane hunt at a big nursery by us…turns out Newsday printed the wrong day, so it wasn't actually happening that day.  But we walked around anyway and they had quite the Christmas display!  I thought this tree was a little on the scary side myself :)

Mesmerized by the train display!  He kept climbing right over the bricks (as you can see) and walking right over to try and touch the trains…oy

She loved the animals that were all lit up

I am in charge of organizing the kindergarten's holiday party, and this is the craft we are going to do…had to try it out with Charlotte & Henry before bringing it into class!  Both of their ornaments are currently hanging on our tree :)

Flat feet like mommy, perhaps? :)

On Sat morning, Jon went surfing and the kids and I cuddled in bed and watched Toy Story.  It was glorious haha.  They kept on holding each other, and even with poor lighting, I was able to catch this shot of Henry laying on Charlotte's chest…I love how they are just nuzzled into each other.  Sigh

The kids greeting each other after Henry woke up from his nap haha

Image 18

Not sure exactly what is going on here, but they needed to take their greeting to the floor, apparently.

Okay, that is all for now!!! :)
