Breakfast with Santa

Last weekend we went to breakfast with Santa at Henry's school.  We knew Henry wouldn't go anywhere near Santa, but Charlotte kept assuring us that she was definitely going to sit on his lap this year…I still wasn't so sure :)

I asked Henry if I could take a picture of the two of them, and he refused to even turn around.  I guess I got my answer!

She did it!!! First time ever…at 5.5 years old haha.  I am still impressed. She was talking to him and laughing…so cute.

Meanwhile, as soon as Henry heard Santa's bells, he went running out of the room, back into the kitchen area behind the church with Jon.  Almost catatonic.  He was NOT happy.  Jon finally bribed him with a candy cane, and he came into the big room...

…but he insisted on staying as far away from Santa as humanly possible.  My boys were actually backed into the corner haha.

Once Santa left, Henry was able to go out and have fun again…Charlotte, Clare, Maddy & Henry were having a little dance party :)

So, Charlotte took a big step sitting on Santa's lap…never expected it from Henry, but it was fun nonetheless.  Maybe when he's 5, he will give it a whirl.  But knowing Henry, probably not :)
