Weekend Recap

It has been a while since I did a weekend recap, so here we go! :)

Since we were having Grandma's retirement party on Friday night, we headed out to my parents' house Friday morning.  Henry has been going through a spell where he is waking up before 7am, which is too early for him, so this is how I found him when we arrived haha.  I love that he put his pillow behind his head, and then slept hunched forward.  And this was only like 10am, too, so apparently he was exhausted! :)

Friday night we had the party, which was great (I will make a separate post for that), and Saturday Jon and I took the kids to the aquarium.  Here is Henry in front of the sharks...

Saying, "look!!! Looooooookkk, biiiiiiiggggg shaarrrrkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!".  Haha

Meanwhile, Charlotte was asking if sharks were mammals or not.  I said, "no, sharks are not mammals", and she said, "well, then they just lay their eggs to have babies", haha.  All comes back to babies for her :)

Daddy got the little fish to feed to them.  And Henry fully grossed me out by touching one of the little fish, putting his hand in the stingray pool, and then licking his fingers.  I almost lost it…too much for a germaphobe mommy to take :)

The stingrays got really aggressive…they come up and splash along the side of the tank, so Charlotte was trying to escape :)

Finally brave enough to touch it!  She said it "feels like wet silk", haha.

On Saturday night, I ended up getting really sick…not sure if it was something I ate (ugh, a spinach shake for lunch?) or a virus of some sort, but I was violently ill.  Really, the sickest I can remember being in over 15 years.  Awful.  And the only thing worse about being that sick, is being that sick and worrying about my kids getting it (and husband and mommy and daddy, too)  :(

So I was out for the count all evening Saturday, and all day Sunday.  Monday I started to feel semi-human again…although I was still very weak and nauseous.  Gross.

And even though it technically probably doesn't belong in my weekend recap, I thought I would share some pictures of our kitchen progress!  On Monday, Joe came with our glass cabinets with the "Xs"…this is something I wanted before we even began the renovation, and they ended up being a total pain in the neck, but I really like how they came out  :)

And we finally got our silverware divider so the drawer isn't a total disaster, haha

I told Jon that we might need some more silverware :)

The men also came to install the curtains in the kitchen…Henry is moving in on the tools.  Such a little rascal.  But I love that he brought his tools (the orange ones), as well…cutie :)
