Update

I have been very bad about updating this blog...somehow, the days just get away from me!  I have been trying to exercise during naptime, and so by the end of the day after everyone is in bed, Jon and I usually just attempt to relax for a bit in front of the television.

We have been very busy though, and everyone is doing well.  Henry is getting bigger every day, and my arm is actually getting quite buff from carrying around what feels like a stuffed turkey all day long :)  He is getting much better at getting up on his arms (in a cobra position, for those yoga fans) and has even started to scoot around...if I place a toy just out of his reach, he can somehow maneuver his way over to it.  I watched him do a full 360 today. I sense his crawling days are rapidly approaching, and although I am excited for him, I am not excited for me!  It is nice to put him down on his mat and be able to step away and know he will remain in the same vicinity...I can't imagine when I have two very mobile kids.  I think we need to find our baby gates asap! :)

Henry is also doing well in physical therapy...Lisa told us that he has about 90% mobility and full range of motion now. I still see the tilt when he is sitting, but she seems to think that it is due mostly to muscle weakness.  She suggested we go to PT for 2 more weeks, then take a one month break (although we have to continue to do intensive stretching/strengthening at home) and re-evaluate after the break. I'm not sure how I feel about that...I'm glad he is progressing, but I don't know if taking a break is a good idea at this point when he is having good results. We go to the pediatrician next week, so I am going to talk to her and see what she suggests...

Henry is also sleeping a bit better, which makes mommy and daddy very happy.  Although it is still kind of hit and miss...some nights he is great and doesn't wake up until 6:30am, and other nights he is up multiple times.  His sleeping habits are so different from Charlotte’s…literally, since the night she started sleeping all the way through she’s never looked back!  And Henry likes to keep us on our toes.  I just look forward to the day when we close his door at 7pm and don't open it again until morning...wishful thinking???

In other news, Charlotte is making some progress on the potty training front.  She is totally fine with peeing, and will do that all day long…I have been putting her in diapers when we leave the house for long periods of time, but I’m thinking that needs to stop soon.  Although I know she isn’t confused by it…at home, she knows she uses the potty, and when we are out—well, we don’t.  I just can’t even imagine having to stop and get the two of them out of the carseats in all of their winter gear only to go into some disgusting bathroom.  Maybe in the spring, haha.  And she finally pooped on the potty, although that isn’t a regular thing by any means…despite my best attempts to bribe her with really good candy (Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, my favorite!) and her “Treasure Chest” of toys, she still sometimes requests a diaper. Oh well…we will get there eventually!

Charlotte is really the most amazing big sister…Henry just absolutely melts when he sees his sister, and it makes me happier than I ever thought I could be when I see them together—just amazing.  He looks at her with these adoring eyes, and she is so maternal towards him.  Well, most of the time…she did try to eat his foot last night :)

Here is a pic of Henry with a silly smile

Oh, cute story…we went to Mamie and Poppy’s for a few days last weekend, and Charlotte found a picture of Uncle James from when he was about 10 yrs old.  She took the picture out of the frame and was walking around with it saying “he’s sooooo cute!” in a high-pitched voice :)

I look at that picture of James, and can’t believe he is in college now…amazing!

Okay, off to watch Modern Family!
