Make it stop…I feel like everything is going so fast! Henry was 6 months old yesterday, something I neglected to mention in my post…don’t know how I could’ve forgotten that. Some days I still find it hard to believe that I have two kids, but most of the time I can’t remember life without him. Happy 6 month birthday to my baby boy! :)
I think I’ve been feeling a bit nostalgic recently because Charlotte started her pre, pre-school this week. We have been going to Mommy & Me down the street since September, and this school has a “separation” program for the kids to get them ready for pre-school next year…basically, it is the same teacher and same kids, but the mommies just leave them for an hour now. Needless to say, given Charlotte’s history, I did not have high hopes! But she absolutely loves it…I gave her a Dora backpack, and I think that put her over the edge…she knew it was for school, and couldn’t wait to show it off to Miss Christina and all of the kids. We went into the room and she ran up to Miss Christina to give her a hug, and then started to be the teacher’s helper (this is MY daughter we are talking about, so no surprise there). I told her I was going to leave, and she said “bye mommy” and blew me a kiss, barely looking up from her toy! I kept my phone in very close proximity, fully expecting a call that she was having a meltdown, but no…I showed up an hour later and she was happy as a clam. And she was excited to go back, too, so I know she must really be enjoying herself.
Here is a picture of Charlotte on her first day of “school”…so grown up!
And the all-important Dora backpack
Yesterday when I picked Charlotte up Miss Christina and her assistant teacher (Miss Denise) came up to tell me how Charlotte was so cute in class…apparently, she and her friend Harry were holding hands throughout the class. And he was “petting” her hair, so she explained to him that she has “beautiful blonde hair” (he has brown hair) and he “can’t have hers”, haha. I think I am to blame for that comment. Henry always tries to pull Charlotte’s hair if it is anywhere near him, and to keep her from freaking out and crying every time he does it, I told her he is trying to borrow her hair because it is so beautiful and he wants blonde hair. And clearly, now she thinks everyone is after her hair :)
Anyway, I recently downloaded all of our Flip Phone videos, and I am going to start to post some here in no particular order…watching some of these make me cry, because I can’t believe how small Charlotte was, and how quickly it has gone.
This one was in our apartment at the Sagamore…every night when Jon would come home from work, he would give her a bath and then we would all dance. This was from Sept. 2009, so she was about 17 months.
And here is another one from the end of Sept. 2009, outside at Mamie and Poppy’s house…not much has changed here, as Charlotte still loves to push her babies around!
Here is Charlotte just making a silly face in the bath :)
Okay, I’m going to watch television and relax now!
Xoxoxo
