Henry kicked off the month of February with a low grade stomach bug...no throwing up, than God, but everything else that usually accompanies a stomach virus :(. And of course, it slowly but surely made its way throughout the entire house--ugh. Unbelievably, I think this was his first sick day...he had been sick before, but the worst of it was usually on the weekend. Anyway, he didn't feel well so big sis had to offer up some cuddles!
In a case of unfortunate timing, I had to take Eloise to the allergist that day, and Henry had to tag along. She was upset, so Henry was trying to calm her down and tell her it was going to be okay--sweetness :)
After her appointment, it was mild enough for us to play outside and she was clearly thrilled
Followed by bath time!
Walking to get Charlotte--in February!!! :)
The kids found a small, empty photo album, and collected pictures--mostly of mama--to fill it. Love
Cuddles/tickles
Cutie pie
Henry has a half day the first Wednesday of every month, and we like to go on a lunch date--his most recent restaurant choice was Panera :)
Love this series of pics with my crazy little girl!
Cheese!!!
The girls
With my big girl who asked me for a selfie--I should've known something was up!
This Facebook memory popped up...Charlotte 5 years ago, saying "isn't uncle Jamesy sooooooooooo cute?!" Haha
All ready for school! Such a fashionista :)
Out for a walk again!
But then, Charlotte got sick (mind you, she had been coughing non-stop for well over a month at this point, so adding this upset stomach in just really stunk!)...
Thankfully she had a snow day though, so at least she didn't have to miss any more school! Between having croup and missing a week of school, and Puerto Rico and our Florida plans, she couldn't afford another absence!
I made eggless mini meatballs for the kids...I thought they would be a bigger hit than they were! The older kids liked them, but Eloise wanted nothing to do with them :(
Henry came out to shovel with me when Eloise was napping and Charlotte was in bed...
After Eloise woke up, the 3 of us went out in the backyard to play in the snow--it was a bit less traumatic for Eloise this time, I think! ;)
Hugs for big bro!
My loves
This made me laugh
We told Henry that if he wanted to come out with us, he had to get himself dressed without our help. If you know Henry, this never happens!!!! So when he came downstairs like this, it took everything in me to stifle my laughs--so stinking cute, but maybe not ideal for a February day with lots of snow on the ground haha. It also gave me flashbacks of Chooch :)
Eloise wanted to pose with her cute brother!
Once again, Facebook with the memory from when Charlotte was 2.5 and heading to mommy & me--so sweet
All business!
Henry's masterpiece! This is our house :)
Another piece of Henry's artwork--a picture of Jackie Robinson...there are no words!
We celebrated Valentine's Day a few days early because we were going to be in Florida and I didn't want to travel with their gifts...here is Eloise checking out the goods :)
This was funny...I went to make a withdrawal at the bank and asked for "small bills". The woman gave me all singles. Who does that?!!! I couldn't even close my wallet haha
The night before our trip I took Charlotte to get a mani/pedi, and her friend Luca showed up with his mom. They were talking across the room, and Luca's mom finally said "Luca, why don't you go sit next to her?", so he goes over and they were talking...and this is what she does haha. So sassy, I have no idea what the heck she was doing!
It's true!!! ;)
This one rules the roost I tell you!
She's not amused!
Henry wanted to "look just like daddy". Mission accomplished! He insisted on wearing this to school :)
Interrupting this program for another trip down memory lane thanks to Facebook...Charlotte playing dress-up quite a few years ago!!!
Meanwhile, I took Eloise to the pediatrician because of her cough...I thought it sounded like it had gone to her lungs. Thankfully, it didn't (the ped was actually surprised, because she had heard her coughing and didn't think it sounded good). But it turned out she had a double ear infection!!!! She hadn't been pulling on her ears or acting like she was in pain, so I was shocked. This has happened a lot with Charlotte and Henry too--the no-symptom sneaky ear infection, ugh. So she was put on amoxicillin for 10 days...unbelievably, it was her first time on antibiotics. I'm surprised she made it that long in this house haha.
Not a happy baby :(
Big brother to the rescue!
And then big sister. Hugs all around for their "boo boo"!!!
Charlotte had to write the reasons why she should be elected President haha. In case you can't read it, she wrote: "Four good reasons why I would be a good president are because I'm brave, smart, fair, kind. One thing I would do is hire more police to make people follow the laws. I will also make sure that everyone has a house and food to help make their lives better". :)
Did someone say "dance party"?!!!!
Happy girls
They came down ready to put on a show. Henry even dressed himself--in a button down!!! I don't think anyone realizes what a big deal that is for him haha. In his own words, "mom, I can get handsome really fast!!!"
I told Charlotte we needed a picture for her communion invite, so she happily posed for a photo shoot haha
We've got company!!!
Love
We went out to HB really quickly one Sunday to see a house, and of course we had to stop to say "hi" to Cassa Bassa!!! And uncle James too, of course :)
She was beside herself!
Back home, and ready for a soccer scrimmage haha...in the 80s :)
Before school one day--my big girl!!!
Daddy's home!!!
Okay, so those are the rest of the pics from February! Next I will get to work on the videos :)
Xoxoxo
