I cannot comprehend how this is possible, but our sweet baby girl is 1 already!!!
At 1, she is 20lbs 4oz (25th-50th percentile), and ~28" (25th percentile)...so she's definitely thinning out haha. However, Eloise is still the biggest of the bunch! At 1, Henry was 19lbs 6oz and at TWO (!!!), Charlotte was only 20lbs 7oz and 31" (I don't have any accurate weight/height measurements of Charlotte from 7-24 months because Charlotte lost her mind when we even walked down 70th street!) So needless to say, our "little" Eloise isn't so little after all, not that this is all that surprising :)
Anyway, Eloise is cruising all over the place, she could walk with her little push toy/walker all day long (as long as she didn't get stuck/hit into anything, because then she screams and waits to be untangled). She hasn't attempted any steps just yet, and is still super cautious. God forbid she falls while cruising or pushing, because then the neighbors all hear her...she's quite the drama queen :)
She has a wonderful sense of humor, and loves nothing more than playing with her big brother and sister. They make her giggle all the time (and vice versa).
She loves eating (surprise, surprise). She has 3 meals a day, 4 bottles a day, and is still taking 2 naps (although I think I will transition her to 1 as soon as the school year is over). She loves fruit, avocado, sweet potatoes, and any type of carb (pasta, rice, bread, cornbread, crackers etc etc). She tolerates meat...sometimes. She still gets one meal of baby oatmeal with baby food, but the rest is just real food. She had a reaction to eggs when I gave them to her a few months ago (got hives on her face), so we haven't given them again and I'm a little nervous to give her any known high-allergy foods. She can have eggs in baked goods, however, so that's a good sign.
She adores her paci, and I have no desire to take that away any time soon! She usually has about 16 in or under her crib at any given time.
She doesn't like to perform on cue, but she can do "so big", say "mama", "dada", "baba", and what sounds like "hi" (but might not be!). She waves constantly, and moves her entire upper body when she does it. She just started "clapping", although it's less like clapping and more like gingerly rubbing her hands together haha.
She LOVES dancing and only has to hear a few notes before she starts shaking her body and bobbing her head. Her favorite is the song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse...so cute :)
She is going through severe separation anxiety, and would be happy to be attached to mommy's hip 24 hours a day. If I so much as attempt to go to the bathroom, she gets upset. If anyone else walks in the house or shows any interest in her, she loses her mind. Oy. I forgot how difficult this stage could be!
She's got 3.5 teeth (2 on bottom, 1.5 on top), and a little mullet :)
And sleep...where do I start?!!! When Charlotte & Henry started sleeping through the night, they slept through consistently. Not Eloise. I am still up multiple times a night the majority of nights. One night it might be 2-4 times to replace a Paci, sometimes she needs to be rocked, sometimes she's starving and only a bottle will settle her down, and sometimes (rarely!) she will actually sleep through the night. I've had enough now, mommy is tired. I really really really would like the night wakings to end now...ugh.
Anyway, Eloise must've missed the memo that 3rd children are supposed to be laid back and go with the flow. That is NOT Eloise. She has the worst temper ove ever seen on a child, and she is not shy about letting you know what she wants when she wants it! But she is hysterical and loving and just so adorable...and we love her little fiesty personality!!! :)
Here are some pics from her birthday...
Eloise's presents, not including the big (secondhand) wagon that is sitting in the garage!
What is this?!
Not so thrilled with this whole birthday thing
It's my party...
In better spirits after a nap, and ready for her 12 month photo shoot :)
She has to primp a bit haha
My love
Stealing mommy's sunnies
Happy girl
And even though Charlotte, Henry and I were the only ones home, of course we had to sing to our birthday girl!
Cake everywhere!!!
Happy 1st Birthday Eloise! We all love you so much and couldn't imagine life without you!!!!
Xoxoxo
