Jon was traveling this year on his birthday, as he has for the past few years, but he was supposed to get home around 7pm. I had made his requested dinner of chicken parm and spaghetti, and we had 2 kids who were incredibly excited to enjoy birthday cake with daddy. But there were some delays, and so he didn't get home until about 8:15pm--MUCH too late for our tired kiddies to celebrate haha. So unfortunately, we had to go ahead and enjoy some of his birthday cake without the birthday boy himself :)
This year Jon requested a yellow cake with chocolate icing…easy peasy. He isn't as difficult as his kids haha.

And we couldn't have birthday cake without singing to the birthday boy! :)

The next night we were finally able to celebrate with Jon. Henry wouldn't cooperate for any pictures, of course, but I got a few good shots of Jon and Charlotte.
