Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter…ours was very low key, but we all had a good time. We just celebrated here at our house with Grandma, but we also had brief visits from Mamie, Poppy, Uncle Ray, Uncle James and Sarah, which was nice.
Here are some pics of our Easter weekend...
This was taken the morning of Good Friday. Jon was sick and slept in, and it was our first day back from Mamie & Poppy's house…the kids were SOOOOOO good. They played together for hours, they were just so content and happy…I was actually able to pay all of my bills, take care of all of my paperwork, and sit down to have my breakfast and (hot!) coffee. Oh, and they are too cute and sweet for words, so there's that :)
Friday afternoon after nap, Charlotte and I dyed the eggs. I felt really bad about not including Henry, but after he broke about 15 eggs while decorating them, I felt better about my decision haha
She wasn't happy that I was asking her to take a picture, as you can tell by the half smile/half frown :)
No. More. Pictures!
Our beautiful eggs :)
And the decorating/breaking begins!
Henry would just drop the eggs into the bowl, into each other, etc…my counter was covered in shattered egg shells haha. He didn't so much listen when we told him to be "gentle", clearly :)
On Saturday we went to an Easter Egg hunt at United…here is the Easter Bunny signaling the beginning of the hunt
And this is where Henry was…hiding behind the house, saying "wanna go Henry's house now", "wanna go home", "no bunny"…on the verge of tears. Poor Henry haha
Showing off her collection!
Posing with the Bunny (in mommy's sunglasses)! Don't ask me why she is so brave and likes the Easter Bunny, but is deathly afraid of Santa. She did tell me later in the afternoon when we were talking about the bunny, "I saw flesh on the bunny", and I said "what kind of flesh?". She said "human flesh". I said, "sometimes some parts of the bunny can look like human flesh, like where the tail is connected on the back". And she said, "it wasn't by his heinie, it was up by it's head". Ugh oh. My little detective…I just left it at that :)
Posing with Hari and Nicholas. Even as much as Hari loves Charlotte, I think Nicholas might love her more haha.
Cuties
I swear the apple juice was the highlight for Henry! :)
With my goose
That bunny isn't coming in here, right?!
Hugs/headlocks...
…to the ground!
With her friend Nicole
Notice Henry's new "cheese" face…it leaves a bit to be desired. As does Jon's fake smile. And Charlotte's fake smile. Haha. Love my silly family :)
Siblings…LOVE
Trouble :)
More "cheese" face
Attempting a family picture…FAIL
Posing. My little sweetheart :)
This is pretty much them in a nutshell haha!
Handsome boy
Running on the lawn and having a grand old time
My boys :)
Easter cupcakes :)
Hard to see, but I put up some pink birds on the chandelier, and Charlotte got such a kick out of the fact that they were upside down. I may just leave them up for a while because she giggles every time she walks in there :)
The Easter Bunny came!
Tentatively coming down the stairs to see if he came :)
She started to tear into the basket right away….
Moving too fast for a picture haha
Then they decided to quickly look for some eggs. Charlotte didn't really leave too many for her brother…she went around as fast as can be, just grabbing those eggs :)
Henry found one!
Back to the basket...
Cuddling her new bunny
The aftermath!!!
The only toy Henry really cared about!!! Once he saw this, everything else paled in comparison :)
We had an outside hunt too! P.S.--we don't normally keep all of the toys out on the lawn/patio, but it gave the Easter Bunny some good hiding spots :)
Here are the kids in action! I didn't realize that I flipped the camera until after watching it on here…oops haha
Charlotte found a gold coin in one of the eggs…she didn't realize until like 8 hours later that it was chocolate :)
There were 2 eggs up in the tree, so our smart little girl simply started shaking it from below haha
Meanwhile, Henry was over on the side of the house and apparently tripped on one of Jon's tools or something, because he came over saying "no tools at Henny's house, no wanna daddy tools", and he just wanted to go back inside after that traumatic event. Poor kid haha.
Because it started raining, we had to take our family pictures inside…too bad the lighting in our house is horrible for pictures :(
We are actually looking in the same direction! Baby steps :)
Someone was about to make a run for it!
Most people have all of these beautiful pictures of their family on Easter…I have slightly different pictures haha. Henry and Charlotte jumping on mommy and making a "mommy sanny" :)
Grandma with the pretty flowers she brought us
Silly kiddies
The girls (minus mommy)
Later in the evening, Charlotte (aka "Tracy Sunshine") started doing our hair for us…check out Grandma's new style :)
LOVE IT! :)
Mamie wasn't cooperative, so I can't share her picture here…boo.
And because an evening isn't complete without a performance, here is a picture of Charlotte's Easter song! :)
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!!!
Xoxoxo
