Charlotte got her cast off last Wednesday! After almost a month, we braced ourselves for what was sure to be another bout of hysterical crying at the doctor’s office…and Charlotte didn’t disappoint. The PA took us into the room, and before he had even wheeled the machine in (to take the cast off), she had a quiver lip and was crying hysterically. Then she needed x-rays, which meant I had to physically hold her down on the table…needless to say, Mamie could hear her from across the office. But alas, a lollipop saved the day and soon she was as good as new!
Here is Charlotte the day after she got her cast on Oct. 18, 2010…such a sad face!
And right after she got it off (doing some much needed drawing) on Nov. 10th, 2010!
She still walks as if she has a cast on, but the doctor said it can take up to 3 weeks for her to walk normally…now if Jon would only stop freaking out about it, we would be golden!
Henry also had a doctor’s appointment this week. At 3 months, he is 13 lbs., 14 oz. and 24.25”…our little chunky monkey! Since Charlotte is only about 21-22lbs at 2.5 years old, I’m pretty sure that he is going to overtake her by about 6 months. That is probably a good thing though…Charlotte has taken to hitting him “just a little bit”, so he needs to learn to defend himself!
The doctor said that Henry is very advanced physically, and that I had better be ready because this kid is “going to be on the move soon”. Since he has such strong head control, we decided to try the Bumbo this week…
I have a picture of Charlotte in the same exact position when she was his age (clenched fists and all)…I need to dig that up. But in the meantime, this will have to do!
On Sunday we had a professional photographer come to take pics of the family, so I will hopefully post some of those soon! Can’t wait to see them!
xoxoxoxo
