Good times…

We have had a really great few weeks…first, we took Charlotte to the pediatric cardiologist and got the wonderful news that she has an innocent murmur and it is absolutely nothing to worry about.  And in a move that really surprised her mommy, Charlotte was actually…wait for it……………………….BRAVE (!!!) at the doctors! I think it was because Poppy was there. She got an EKG, echocardiogram, and the cardiologist examined her, and not even a whimper! Such a good girl. And of course, we were thrilled with the results…the best Mother’s Day present ever! :)

But, for the icing on the cake, Jon bought me a beautiful bag from Dooney & Bag (he picked it out all by himself…such a great job!) and he and Charlotte got me a very sweet card.  Oh, and Jon and I went to Puerto Rico from Sunday morning through Wednesday!!!! Perfection. We flew into Rincon, which was a super easy flight--Jet Blue, only 3hrs, 10 min flight (and Frank Langella was on our flight, haha).

We stayed at the Horned Dorset, which was absolutely gorgeous (check it out- http://www.horneddorset.com/home.html). It was definitely one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed at…our suite was beautiful, it was 2 stories, had 2 baths (including the biggest master bath I’ve ever seen), a kitchen, an upstairs sitting room, downstairs sitting room, and a private pool.

This is the view from our bedroom

It was technically off-season in Rincon, so everywhere was pretty empty, including the hotel! I think there were only a few other couples there with us, so we literally had the restaurants and beach and pool to ourselves. Very relaxing. Jon had a great time surfing, and I just spent my time on the beach with a book, which I THOROUGHLY enjoyed :)

And while we had a great time on vacation, and it was great to have an adult-only getaway, we really missed the kiddies. When we got back to HB, the weather was beautiful, and Jon was still on vacation, so we had some great “family time”, as Charlotte calls it.

Here are some pictures of the kids down at Old Harbor Beach

(oh, and P.S.—Charlotte has taken to stripping down wherever she is… apparently she thinks pants are optional these days!)

This was Henry’s first time playing in the sand. Surprisingly, he didn’t attempt to eat it!

Another day we went to the Long Island Game Farm in Manorville…Charlotte had a great time, and Henry was just kind of aloof until I gave him a taste of a chicken tender, then he was happy too :)

Charlotte feeding the deer (this is the girl who is petrified of a fly, but she had about 8 animals rushing her and was totally fine!)

Feeding the giraffe…again, no fear whatsoever.

Jon and Charlotte being rushed by the baby goats…so cute, yet so aggressive :)

AND then, as if all of that wasn’t fabulous enough, Jon organized a group of people to go wine tasting for my 32nd birthday. So Jon, Ray, James, Jess, Dave, Pat and I spent the afternoon at Martha Clara and Macari Vineyards, and then went to Rumba for dinner.

Mmmmmm…wine!!!

We had so much fun, and I am so lucky to have such a wonderful family and friends.* And such an amazing husband :)

In other news, Henry is now 9 months and is just an absolute love. He is cruising all over the place, loves to cuddle (he often crawls over, puts his head down and rolls on his back just waiting for a hug/kiss), and basically will eat anything that moves slower than he does! He adores puffs, bread, broccoli, cheese-less pizza, sauce, peaches…so far the only food he doesn’t like is peas, and I can’t say I really blame him :)  Henry also dances on command now…when I say “dance, Henry”, he does this side to side wiggle and then starts headbanging. Adorable!

Here he is mid-headbang

Okay, I’m off to watch television…I still have to download a lot of pictures, so I will be back soon :)

Xoxoxo

*I should also mention that we are so incredibly thankful to my parents for watching the kids while we enjoyed the above-mentioned activities!!! We couldn’t do it without them (obviously). Thank you so much :)
