St. Patrick's Day…Mommy didn't get the memo!!!

So for St. Patrick's Day, I made corned beef and cabbage, we wore green, and that was about the extent of our celebration.  Little did I know that people in RVC make a BIG deal out of St. Patty's Day, and almost everyone had a naughty leprechaun visit their house overnight.  Everyone except us.  So on St. Patrick's Day, Charlotte goes to school and everyone was talking about what their leprechaun did…oops. Luckily, Mr. Ferrone bought me some time because he told Charlotte that the leprechaun can come anytime during the week.  I told Charlotte that he went to visit the homes of people who are 100% Irish first, and then us mutts get him another night haha…and quickly proceeded to run to the drug store!

So the day AFTER St. Patty's Day, the kids came down to discover that we had a visit from Lucky, who was a very naughty leprechaun!  He left tic tacs all over Lovey's bowl, spray painted the breakfast plates, and made a huge mess!  He even left green "leprechaun pee" in our toilet…the nerve!

Not quite a bob...

Charlotte has been begging me to let her get a bob haircut...I have no idea why, or when it started, but she is always asking. Jon said "absolutely not", and I kind of agreed, but I did let her get quite a bit cut off before her birthday party :)

You can tell she's not happy here...she was petrified that the woman might get a drop of water in her face haha
Still not thrilled...there is still water present. God forbid.
NOW she's happy, because I was telling her how short it was!
And here is she is, post-haircut!
Happy as a clam :)
Wish I could do her hair like that every day haha...looks much better when a professional takes care of it!

No rest for the weary...

I asked the kids for 3 min to take a shower when Jon was traveling...apparently, that was too much to ask. They decided to move the party into the bathroom instead, haha...

It is especially fun when Charlotte comments on how my belly "couldn't possibly get any bigger", and Henry just points at me and laughs...good times! :)

Updates...

It has been a while, so I am going to do a little picture dump here :)

Silly Henry boy

Kind of a strange method for eating an ice cream cone!

The first week in March, we all got the norovirus again…it was absolute hell.  Jon got sick one night, and then (just like last time!) had to fly out for work meetings the next morning. I have NO idea how he was able to do that, as the next few days at home sick with the sick kids (and 34/35 wks pregnant) was pure torture…can't imagine having to give presentations and have adult conversations.

Henry succumbed first, and then Charlotte and I followed…I pulled the other couch up by the tv, and we were all on the couches (covered with towels and with garbage cans all over the place) for days. I think we watched probably 15 movies that week haha.

Since Henry got sick first, he also got better first…he wanted to play, and mommy couldn't manage much, so I pulled up the ottoman and some toys so I wouldn't really have to move.  Desperate times...

We were home for the week, and when the kids finally went back to school, it appeared that Charlotte developed a little bit of a crush on Luca!  Luca's mom sent me a picture of the letter she made him at school…translation: Charlotte is marrying you because you are nice. Haha.  And apparently they dress like soldiers.

We finally had a brief taste of spring on the day we were getting our new car…Charlotte was excited to wear her spring jacket! :)

Meanwhile, Henry was excited to watch the work going on across the street!!!

He may have gotten the forecast a little bit wrong :)

When Jon came home with our new car, the kids were beyond excited…for some reason, they just wanted to play in the trunk! :)

Barber Jon!

I will spend some time catching up, but had to share these hysterical photos. Jon took Henry for a haircut a few weeks ago, and the barber absolutely BUTCHERED his hair.  Mamie even said he should lose his license for what he did to Henry haha. So Jon decided today he could fix it.

As we know, Henry doesn't like getting his hair cut, won't sit still, and is generally a pain in the neck. So Jon had to bring out the big guns (ahem, some laughs).

I give you Barber Jon!

Showing Henry he isn't all that scary!

It's not perfect, but it will do for now! Henry has school pics on Tuesday, which should rival Uncle James' for the funniest picture ever!

I will be back soon!

Q&U :)

Charlotte recently had her Q&U show, which is a big performance the kindergarten class does when they've finished learning all of the different letters of the alphabet. Everyone has a role, and it is absolutely adorable!

Each year they have a different theme. This year's theme was "football", because it fell the Friday before Super Bowl Sunday, so there were cheerleaders, quarterbacks, etc. So cute. Charlotte was the letter "K", which I told her was the best letter of the alphabet :)

My seat wasn't that great, so my pics and videos aren't wonderful, but here they are anyway...

Ready to go!!

I helped to choreograph the half-time show with two other moms, so we spent the month before the show going into school and practicing, which was quite an experience! I gained so much more respect for elementary school teachers after this--I'm not sure how they do it haha. Getting 75 kids to do anything, especially a choreographed dance routine, is NOT easy...but they did well :)

(If you look closely you can see me dancing--pregnant--in front of the group haha)

We had a "tailgate party" after the show, and the kids just had a ball. I think this was the highlight, when they played "What Does A Hawk Say?" (the school mascot is a hawk!). Notice Charlotte bouncing in the lower right corner the entire time haha

Such a cute event, loved it!
